Your 2-day valley trek begins in Imlil (1,740m), the main gateway to the High Atlas Mountains. After meeting your licensed local guide, you start walking along a scenic mountain trail toward Tizi Mzik Pass (2,489m). The ascent takes around 3–4 hours and offers beautiful panoramic views over the Imlil Valley and surrounding peaks.
From Tizi Mzik, you descend into the stunning Azaden Valley, known for its terraced fields, traditional Berber villages, and peaceful atmosphere. The trail continues downhill toward the village of Ait Aissa (approx. 1,800m), where you arrive after 5–6 hours of total walking. Overnight is in a local guesthouse, where you enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and experience authentic Berber hospitality.
After breakfast in Ait Aissa, you begin your second day by ascending toward Tizi Oudid (also called Tizi Oudit), a mountain pass at around 2,000m. The climb takes approximately 2–3 hours on a steady mule track with wonderful views over the Azaden Valley behind you and the Imlil Valley ahead.
At the pass, you take a short break to enjoy the scenery before descending back toward Imlil through Juniper forests and small Berber settlements. The descent takes around 2–3 hours, bringing you back to Imlil in the afternoon. This 2-day trek is moderate in difficulty and perfect for travelers who want to explore the beauty of the High Atlas valleys without climbing high summits.
