Experience a complete High Atlas adventure on this 5-day trek starting from Imlil. On Day 1, you hike through walnut groves, terraced fields, and small Berber villages to reach the serene Imnan Valley
The trek starts in Imlil (1,740 m) in the early morning. You hike through scenic trails, passing walnut groves, small Berber villages, and terraced fields. The gradual ascent leads into the beautiful Imnan Valley, known for its peaceful atmosphere, traditional villages, and mountain scenery. Arrival in Imnan is mid-afternoon, where you stay overnight in a guesthouse or Berber home and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner.
After breakfast, you trek from Imnan Valley descending and crossing small streams and rocky trails toward the lush Azaden Valley. The trail passes terraced fields, orchards, and Berber villages along the way, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. You arrive at a guesthouse or local lodging in Azaden Valley by mid-afternoon for dinner and overnight stay, resting for the next day’s trek.
On day three, after breakfast, you begin your trek from Azaden Valley back to Imlil. The trail passes through Sidi Chamharouch and the Mizane Valley, offering views of High Atlas ridges and traditional Berber settlements. You arrive in Imlil in the afternoon, where you stay overnight in a riad or guesthouse to rest and prepare for the ascent to Toubkal the next day.
An early departure from Imlil takes you toward Toubkal Refuge (3,200 m) via the Mizane Valley. The trail gradually ascends through rocky terrain and mountain passes, passing small streams and traditional Berber villages. Arrival at Toubkal Refuge is in the early afternoon. You enjoy lunch, rest, and dinner at the refuge while preparing for the summit attempt the following morning.
Start early around 4:00–5:00 AM for the final ascent to Jebel Toubkal (4,167 m), the highest peak in North Africa. The steep rocky trail offers stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains. After 15–30 minutes at the summit for photos and rest, descend carefully back to Toubkal Refuge, continue down through Mizane Valley and Sidi Chamharouch, and finally return to Imlil by late afternoon. This concludes the 5-day trek, combining valley exploration, mountain passes, and the summit of North Africa’s highest peak.
